Best Family Brunches in Howard County

There’s a certain appeal to brunch meals that’s hard to describe. Brunch is one of the most laid-back and relaxing meals of the day, and it’s an ideal time to catch up with family and friends. It’s also fun for holidays and special occasions while everyone’s in town. Many restaurants only serve certain dishes at brunch, making brunch an occasion in itself.
There is a plethora of excellent brunch spots in Howard County. Here are some local favorites for you to check out and enjoy:
Stanford Grill
8900 Stanford Blvd, Columbia, MD 21045
Stanford Grill is a hidden gem for brunch, but it’s also a local favorite. They have a great Sunday brunch menu with standout choices, such as traditional eggs Benedict with Canadian bacon and the grilled portobello sandwich. The place has a nice cozy atmosphere, with a jazz band playing sometimes.
What’s brunch without mimosas? Complimentary drinks include mimosas, screwdrivers, champagne, and other drink selections. They have a gluten-free menu available also.
George Martin’s Grillfire

George Martin’s Grillfire features authentic local and international dishes that are good for the family all-year round. Located just a quick 8-minute drive from Woodfield Oxford Square, Grillfire has quite an extensive brunch menu. Favorite choices include the chocolate chip pancakes, the buttermilk fried chicken & biscuit, and eggs with marinated skirt steak.
La Madeleine French Bakery & Cafe
6211 Columbia Crossing Dr, Columbia, MD 21045
The French breakfast dishes at this place are awesome! Try a quiche florentine or a breakfast croissant if you’re in the mood for something lighter. For something heartier, check out their American breakfast plate or the potato galette (baked French potato cake—yummy!)

Cafe Mezcla is a hip little cafe that specializes in crepes and belgian waffles. They have a wide selection of both sweet and savory crepes. Favorites include the Nutella waffles, California crepes, and the buttermilk fried chicken waffle (wow!). This place has a nice chic atmosphere in a modern-looking setting. It’s also a nice option if you need quick take-out brunch food to bring back to the family at home.
